Noh theatre actors dancing Sambaso dance in very dynamic
pose.
Boys are wearing on traditional high
stripes hats and wonderful silk brocade costumes
with pine trees and flowers motif. Each of a boy
stands on one foot and holds other leg suspended in
well balanced dance position. Their very expressive
faces carved of wood and covered in a highly
burnished gofun.
These magnificent
pair of dolls crafted in
Kyoto in mid Taisho era (1912-1924), ensuring the
finest quality and craftsmanship.
Absolutely rare unusual big antique dolls are in very good condition with
small barely visible crack on one boy's foot.
